Translational Research

As you evaluate options to prepare an innovation for use in the market, you may need additional funding for specialized testing and development:

Listed below are some options where Georgia Tech researchers have successfully secured funding that helped them advance their innovations in preparation for commercialization.

Coulter Foundation

  • This translational program is a partnership with the biomedical engineering departments at Georgia Tech and Emory University.
  • The program’s goal is to fund and support translational research that addresses unmet clinical needs and will lead to commercial products.
  • The foundation seeks to improve patient care through collaborations between clinicians and engineers to commercialize biomedical technologies.

Georgia Research Alliance

  • This nonprofit organization works with the University System of Georgia and the Georgia Department of Economic Development.
  • The alliance offers a commercialization grant program dedicated to spinouts from Georgia universities.
  • Phase 1-3 program grants are intended to help researchers reduce market and technical risks as they work toward commercialization.
